To develop Android applications, you need to understand how the Android operating system works for users.

On Android, the home screen is separate from the application list. The home screen is more like that of a traditional computer desktop, where application icons are shortcuts. Just as on a desktop, you can have many duplicate shortcuts, and deleting a shortcut has no effect on the app’s installation. To uninstall an app, you must go to the Application Manager in the Settings menu, select the application, and press Uninstall.
