Chapter Ten. Local Adjustments

Local Adjustments are new to Lightroom 2 and provide outstanding and powerful features to enhance your images. These easy-to-use additions are welcome elements to the workflow. The Develop Module’s Local Adjustments toolbar appears just under the Histogram for easy access (FIGURE 10.1).

The Develop Module’s Local Adjustments toolbar is under the Histogram on the right Panel. Here are the tool names, with their keyboard shortcut names.

These tools include the following (with their keyboard shortcuts shown in the figure):

  • Crop overlay

  • Spot removal

  • Red eye correction

  • Graduated filter

  • Adjustment brush
