I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Installing Nagios
Nagios is an industry standard for open source monitoring and reporting. It is incredibly flexible and extendable, for better or worse. Getting it set up and running is not too difficult, but additional thought and understanding both Nagios and the systems which you would like to monitor will be necessary in order to create a configuration which is easy to understand and maintain.
How to do it…
- Install
nagios:sudo apt-get install nagios3 - Select a password when prompted.
- Visit the web UI at
