It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

An intricate part of every Oracle DBA's job involves dealing with files and directories. Therefore, database administrators must be experts with manipulating files. Your job requires skills such as implementing database security, performing backups and recovery, monitoring, and troubleshooting performance issues.
