Integration with Other Business Systems (Business Intelligence Versus Location Analytics)

I would say that location analytics is a niche market in the overall broader business intelligence field. Gartner, a leading IT consulting firm, defines business intelligence as “an umbrella term that includes the applications, infrastructure and tools, and best practices that enable access to and analysis of information to improve and optimize decisions and performance.”1 Location analytics fits well under the business intelligence umbrella because it serves the same purpose, but it requires a specialized set of data and tools to accomplish the goal of improving decisions based on data analysis and data visualization.
