The LPI objectives include several hardware-specific items. You must be familiar with the topics in this chapter to be a good sysadmin.

IRQs and Ports

IRQs are numbered from 0 to 15. Some constants in the numbering are the system timer (0), keyboard (1), and floppy controller (6). Table 4.1 shows common IRQ assignments.
