Connecting to an ISP

There are two ways to establish a PPP connection to your ISP:

• Use the Remote Access control panel or Remote Access Status application to dial in whenever you want.

• Launch an application that requires an Internet connection (such as Microsoft Internet Explorer); a PPP connection is automatically established.

Tip

If you have a direct or LAN connection to the Internet, you don't have to worry about establishing a connection—it's always there.

To connect to an ISP with the Remote Access control panel

1.	Choose Apple menu> Control Panels > Remote Access (Figure 28) to display the Remote Access control panel (Figure 32).
2.	If necessary, switch to the configuration with which you want to connect.
