That disillusionment has only grown over the years and become even better grounded, with respect to one type of article, that of relying on Null Hypothesis Significance Testing (NHST). Unfortunately, NHST has become the dominant form of research in all of our journals today, but when Hall published his paper it was still possible to place research successfully when it did not resort to NHST, and Hall’s was an excellent description of his model and his work with it.
