Survey Questions and Analysis

There are two types of questions in a questionnaire: qualitative and quantitative. The question type and the corresponding modeling type are synonymous. Figure 5.4 Question Types shows a possible scheme for viewing questions. The type of question determines the type of analysis. For example, if the question type is categorical, then only a categorical analysis can be done. This could be as simple as a pie chart (yes, they’re sometimes needed) or bar chart or a simple frequency table.
