It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Summary
In this chapter, you learned how to integrate OpenVPN into your existing network and computer infrastructure. This applies to the server side. We also saw how to use LDAP as a backend authentication system, and how to use policy-based routing to seamlessly integrate the VPN offered by OpenVPN into the regular network. On the client side, we addressed the integration of OpenVPN in to the Windows operating system, as well as a scenario where the OpenVPN server cannot be contacted directly.
These are, of course, only a few examples of advanced deployment scenarios, and we were restricted to tun mode only. This was done on purpose so that we could show that tun mode is suitable for most OpenVPN deployments. There are deployment scenarios that ...
