It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Veeam Backup & Replication has a backup storage technology called Scale-Out Backup Repository (SOBR), used as a backup target for jobs. You can also attach object storage to a scale-out repository to further extend your backups to achieve longer-term retention.
