Project: Roughing in the Lighting

Before proceeding with the texturing process, you can rough in the lighting. A rough pass on the lighting will help you make sound decisions when adjusting materials and mapping textures. For this project, we will apply 3-point lighting, as discussed in the prior section. You can follow these steps:

  1. Create a spot light. Rename the light Key. Position the light to the left of the model so that it's approximately 20 degrees off the axis that runs between the camera and the model (see Figure 3.14).
