Fur Basics

Creating fur is a less intensive process than creating hair. Hair is more hands-on, whereas fur is primarily driven by sliders. Located under the Render module, Fur is actually a shader. When you add fur to a surface, an icon is created to represent it. This is called the fur feedback node. The icon updates with the majority of attribute changes but doesn't represent the true look of the fur. Figure 4.1 shows a comparison between the viewport representation and the rendered version.
