Windows 7 contains a multitude of configuration settings that control all aspects of the operating system’s behavior. In an enterprise network environment, administrators treat these settings as they do most other workstation management chores: by creating standard configurations and deploying them to groups of workstations. This chapter and the next one are dedicated to the selection of appropriate configuration settings for your workstations and the various methods you can use to distribute those settings.
