Remote Administration in Windows Server 2008 R2
Now that you know how to install and configure Remote Desktop Services and RD Licensing, we’ll look at how you connect to remotely administer your servers running Windows Server 2008 R2. Remote administration in Windows Server 2008 R2 is changing. In Windows Server 2003, to remotely connect a Remote Desktop Services server, you would use RDC with mstsc.exe /console, and this would give you access to the console session on the server. With Window Server 2008 R2, the /console switch is ignored and replaced with the RDC switch mstsc.exe /admin, which will allow you to administer the server.
