Five Types of Reports

In chapter 1 we discussed the reasons to measure and in chapter 2, the three types of measures. In this chapter we will discuss the third tier in the TDRp framework: reports (Figure 3-1).

Reports serve a crucial purpose by connecting the users with the data they require to do their jobs. While the value of some measures may be communicated over the phone or in an email, the L&D department typically provides reports to the users to meet their needs. In this chapter we describe the five types of reports that L&D uses to share data. We also reference the TDRp framework to recommend which type of report best meets the user’s needs.
