Why Mergers Fail

I still don’t understand why the acquirer paid such a high premium to acquire us. Their management was not forthright when they made assurances that our executives would be retained. They also weren’t forthright when they discussed where they wanted our company to be positioned. I was initially excited when I was asked to head the new division. I viewed it as a great opportunity. However, the new parent never gave us the proper technology or adequate resources to successfully build the business. I overstayed my welcome. It was time to try something else. I asked for an offer allowing me to leave. The offer was to my satisfaction so I left.
