Deploying your microservice on Kubernetes
So far in this chapter, we have successfully orchestrated a single node Kubernetes cluster using Docker, and we have familiarized ourselves with the Kubernetes dashboard. In this recipe, we will learn how to deploy our geolocation microservice on our Kubernetes cluster.
Getting ready
Deploying a microservice in Kubernetes can be done in several ways. We can use kubectl
to submit our deployment to the Kubernetes cluster. We can also use the dashboard to create a deployment via the UI. In the previous recipe, we used kubectl
to create a deployment for the echoserver
container. In this recipe, let's use the dashboard to deploy the geolocation microservice in Kubernetes.
