Policy management
Policies, guardrails, and definitions—there is a long list of ambiguous terms that are used synonymously when describing the same topic: a set of rules that is used to define in which boundaries an environment can be configured. Ever since Azure Security Center’s beginnings, its cloud security posture management (CSPM) capability was built upon Azure Policy, a service within Microsoft Azure that is used to technically define a company’s governance concept.
Since the last edition of this book, there have been some impressive improvements to both Azure Policy and Azure Security Center, which we cover in this edition.
