The Ribbon menu changes based on both what you are working with as well as the selected area of the form that you are on. Figure 5.4 shows a completely different Ribbon menu when selecting Dashboards versus Accounts.

Additionally, the options are available (or light up) when you have selected records (as shown in Figure 5.5), or when you have saved a record for a specific entity (see Figure 5.6 and Figure 5.7).
