Hiding and Showing Inner Field Items

In the PivotTable shown in Figure 30-2, CatalogNo and Year are outer fields, and Channel and Quarter are inner fields. The PivotTable repeats the items of the inner field for each item in the outer field. You can suppress a set of inner field items by double-clicking the associated outer field item.

For example, to hide the quarterly detail for 2001 in Figure 30-2, you can double-click the 2001 heading. Figure 30-18 shows the result. To redisplay the inner field detail, double-click the outer field heading a second time.
