Microsoft Office InfoPath 2003 has one purpose only: to gather and store information using online forms. With InfoPath, you can easily complete an existing form on line or create a form for your own specific purposes. Instead of providing tools to summarize the data you’ve gathered, InfoPath stores the data in a format that’s usable by a variety of programs in the Microsoft Office System, as well as by some other programs. The information in an InfoPath form is stored in the XML format (more about that later in this section).
