In Search of Project Help

Naturally, Project Help is the first place you’ll likely think to look for answers, and yet, finding them can be maddeningly difficult, as the box on Where’s the Help? explains. But because Project Help is right there on your screen, you may still want to start there. This section tells you how.

Regardless of how you access Project Help, you end up in the Project Help window, shown in Figure B-2. Project Help works like a web browser, so you can hop from high-level topics to lower-level ones, or follow links within topics to related information.

Clicking a category link on the Home page displays the help topics within that category. In turn, Help topic links lead to the nuggets of information each topic holds. You can type new or revised search terms in the Help window’s Search box, and then click the search icon (it looks like a magnifying glass) to see what Project Help has to offer.

Tip

To get the full scoop on Project fields, type field reference in the Search box, and then click the search icon. The Help window displays a list of links that describe all of Project’s fields.

The Help window’s icon bar includes several commands familiar to veteran web surfers: Back, Forward, Home, and Print. Here’s what the Help window’s other two icons do:
