Creating a Subweb
A subweb is a Web site that is nested inside another Web site. A site that contains a subweb is called a root Web. If you think of a Web site as a set of folders, a subweb would be a subfolder containing a stand-alone Web site.
Subwebs are commonly used to display information that requires special access permission or information that is pertinent to only one group of people. For example, The Garden Company might use a subweb so that members of a garden society that the company sponsors can access information about society activities through the company’s public Web site.
