So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Chapter 5 Administering SQL Server 2008 Full-Text Search
SQL Server full-text search is an optional component of SQL Server 2008. It first shipped as part of beta 3 of SQL Server 7. With each release of SQL Server, full-text search becomes significantly faster and more powerful. Full-text search in SQL Server 2008 is orders of magnitude faster than it was in the previous versions.
SQL Server full-text search allows you to rapidly search for words and tokens (like MSFT, XXX, FBI, and so on) in binary, char, nchar, varchar, nvarchar, XML, image, sysname, text, and varbinary columns.
