So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
The Query Analyzer Workplace
When you run SQL Query Analyzer, you will get a connection form, as you can see in Figure B.3, where you can select which server or server instance to connect to, and which authentication mode to use. If you selected SQL Server Authentication mode, you must provide a valid login and password to connect.

Caution
If you try to connect to SQL Server using the SQL Server authentication mode and you fail to supply a valid login name, SQL Query Analyzer will not try to connect using your Windows NT 4.0 ...
