It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Dialogue. Sound tracks. Sound effects. Background noise. All these are crucial parts of a movie, and without them your movie would seem like it was missing something. Watch one of your clips without sound, or watch your favorite movie on TV with the sound off. It’s amazing how much less of a movie it seems without sound. Sound is key not only for dialogue, but when you add music and sound effects, you create and enhance the mood. Who can forget the deep, four-note "ba-dum, ba-dum" sounds in the movie
