There are two levels of navigation in My Sites: a top level of navigation and a sub level which forms the tabs. The top level of navigation is a conglomeration of three different sources: the top level of the My Site Host, the top navigation items of the My Site Host, and the set of personalization sites that fall within the audiences of the user.
