Status Bar and Notification Area
The status bar and notification areas in SharePoint 2010 pages provide the user with information relating to the current activity or issues relating to the current page. Status messages can include messages relating to current page status, such as whether the page is checked out or whether the page has been customized in SharePoint Designer, and can include links such as Revert to Template in the status bar (see Figure 3.17). The status bar includes persistent information, such as version or page status, which, depending on the severity of the status, is available for a certain period of time.
