Adding Images to Sites
The preferred location for images and media in a SharePoint Server 2010 site is in the Asset library. The Asset library in SharePoint Server 2010 provides a new rich user interface, allowing you to preview pop-up thumbnails of images prior to selecting them for insertion into pages. The Asset library also supports storage of video and audio media. By default, when the publishing Feature is activated on a site, an Asset library named Images is created and is versioned enabled.
Default document management rules also apply to Asset libraries, including document versioning. For instance, as highlighted in Figure 5.94, new versions of images and media are automatically versioned.
