Consuming New Page Templates in the Web Interface
When creating new document libraries via the Web interface, one of the options includes template selection. A common template for document libraries is a Word document template. However, another available template is the Microsoft SharePoint Designer Web Page, as shown in Figure 13.72. When you choose the latter template then when users access the library and click the New Document command, SharePoint Designer launches and opens a new, blank page of type .HTM. The HTM page type is not ideal for the following reasons:
• You cannot attach a master page directly to an HTM (or HTML) page.
• You need to save the page as type ASPX.
