Adding Web Parts to Web Part Pages

Adding Web parts to Web part pages in SharePoint Designer differs from adding Web parts via the Web interface. When you choose to edit a page in the Web interface and then add Web parts, you’re given a selection of Web parts, including functional Web parts (such as the Tag Cloud) as well as the category Lists and Libraries (where you can select from the existing site lists and libraries, such as Tasks, Calendar, and Shared Documents). When you add Web parts to a page in SharePoint Designer, selecting the Web Part drop-down selection in the ribbon, shown in Figure 13.15, gives you access to the Web Parts Picker.
