Connection Properties

After you have created an ECT, there will be times you need to change connection settings. These settings could be something as simple as changing the name of the database or database server to changing the authentication method used form the logged in users identity to using Secure Store ID with impersonation.

You can change these settings within SharePoint Designer from the Connection Properties dialog box as described in the following steps:

1. In SharePoint Designer navigate to the External Content Types section and open an existing ECT.

2. From the ribbon click Edit Connection Properties, to display the dialog shown in Figure 20.9.
