As mentioned earlier in this chapter, the LVWP that was the prominent view technology used in SharePoint 2007 is still used in SharePoint 2010 sites. The LVWP provides limited editing options, including Web part connections and access to Web part properties, but it does not include any additional formatting options. Figure 22.29 shows an existing calendar view open in SharePoint Designer, which shows the extent of editing capabilities. The following views default to using an LVWP in SharePoint 2010:
