Tabular Views and Individual Item Checkboxes
When you enable a tabular view on a list, item checkboxes appear to the left of items in the list view (see Figure 23.30). Tabular views are specific to XLVs and are not available when configuring DFWPs. Tabular views are not recommended in XLVs where you plan on using Web part connections, or exposing the XLV on a public-facing site because the main intention of using tabular views is directly related to interacting with the ribbon and activating ribbon commands when checking an item or items in the list.
