Using SQL Database Backup, Replication, and Recovery
It’s comforting to know that ASD automatically creates database backups for you (without any user intervention) on the following schedule: full backups once a week (automatically replicated across regions), daily differentials, and transaction logs every 5 minutes. Of course, the retention and recovery options for these backups vary by service tier.
Table 19.1 summarizes several key aspects of ASD’s backup and restore capabilities according to service tier, including retention duration, recovery options, data loss duration, and replication options.
