Preinstallation Tasks
You perform preinstallation tasks before installing Windows XP Professional. Preinstallation tasks can include the following:
Target analysis. Before installing Windows XP Professional, you can analyze the target computer to ensure that it meets the requirements you specified in your deployment plan (see Chapter 1).
User state migration. When you migrate user state, you save user settings and data to external media or a network location so you can restore those settings and data after installing Windows XP Professional. See the section "State Migration," later in this chapter.
