The easiest way to install Microsoft Windows Server 2003 on a computer while preserving existing domain information, programs, and computer settings is to perform an upgrade installation. This process is easy for member servers and standalone servers, and even easier when upgrading a Windows Server 2003 server to Windows Server 2003 R2.
