Using the Windows Backup Program

Windows Backup, shown in Figure 6-3 is a full-featured backup program that lets you select folders and files to back up based on any combination of criteria. You can save a collection of backup settings as a backup job, and you can schedule the backup job to run automatically at predefined times. Windows Backup can back up data to a file (combining all the files you back up into a single file with a .bkf extension) or to tape.

Although Windows Backup allows you to back up to tape, you're most likely to save your backup to a disk file.
