Managing Network Connections
To see information about currently defined network connections, open Control Panel, Network Connections. (In Windows 2000, the comparable Control Panel item is called Network And Dial-Up Connections, which is also accessible from Start, Settings.) Figure 8-3 on the next page shows the information and configuration options available from this window.
You can view information about each network connection, including the type of connection, whether it's enabled, the brand of the network adapter, and so on. The easiest way to see these various details in Windows XP is to select Tiles view; in Windows 2000, use Details view or select an individual icon, which causes its details to appear in the left pane.
