Character attributes relate to precise typographic control of text formatting of the letters and words, and consequently to the whole appearance of the text paragraphs of your document.

It includes everything that may affect the appearance of the characters on the page, including the characters itself, the font selection and its attributes (like point size, bold, italic, underline, caps size, etc.), letter spacing and vertical displacement, kerning, and some other subtleties that may be seen in certain types of documents.
