Coaxial Connectors
Coaxial cables have used many types of connectors over the years. Ancient Ethernet networks used a thin cable with a bayonet-style connector called a BNC connector (Figure 2.2).

The BNC refers to both the connection mechanism and the creators—Bayonet Neill-Concelman. You’ll still find these connectors, but only as potential answers on CompTIA Network+ exams. Modern coaxial cables use screw-on F connectors (Figure 2.3)
