Ethernet is the infrastructure used by all wired LANs. For this reason, it’s important for network techs to understand Ethernet’s functions and features as defined by the IEEE 802.3 standards. These include such things as how Ethernet network nodes build data frames, how they access the network media, and how they send and receive data.
