The chapter then provides an in-depth look at the Databricks Runtime, highlighting performance optimizations like Photon acceleration, which delivers 2× to 8× speedups on real-world workloads, ensuring efficient data processing and rapid model training.
We explore the platform’s versatile cluster configurations, including All-Purpose Clusters for interactive development and Job Clusters for automated workflows, along with serverless compute options that eliminate infrastructure management overhead. Workspaces and interactive notebooks facilitate organized collaboration, allowing teams to manage code, libraries, and resources within a secure and scalable environment.
