When discussing machine learning with newcomers to the field, I find that many have picked up on the basics but found the quantity of information about the topic and the depth of the mathematics intimidating. I remember that when I was just starting out with machine learning, I had a similar experience: it felt like there was just too much to learn. This appendix is designed for those who may have attempted to understand machine learning from a patchwork of tutorials or a few online courses.
