7. Analytic Use Cases

Overview

In the preceding chapter, we summarized key applications for analytics according to the organizational role of those who consume the analytic insights. In this chapter, we view analytics from a different perspective: We categorize analytics according to generic use cases that share common objectives, actors, methods, and technology (see Exhibit 7.1). In doing so, we discuss the implications of scaling and cadence—the need to address larger problems and to do so more rapidly.
