In C, we do not need to cast the result of malloc
. The following example wrongly performs the cast:

#include <stdlib.h>
int main(void)
{
printf("Casting the result of malloc. Not needed!\n");
int *p = (int *)malloc(sizeof(int));
*p = 123;
