C'est quoi le SaaS ?
Le logiciel en tant que service (SaaS) a complètement changé la façon dont les entreprises créent, fournissent et utilisent les logiciels. Les applications SaaS transfèrent la complexité opérationnelle des clients qui utilisent l'application vers le fournisseur de l'application. En même temps, elles offrent un accès évolutif, sécurisé et fiable aux fonctionnalités de l'application.
Mais derrière la simplicité d'utilisation se cache une pile architecturale complexe et réfléchie, qui doit trouver le bon équilibre entre performances, fiabilité, sécurité et agilité opérationnelle.
Quand tu crées, exploites et maintiens une application SaaS, tu la conçois et la construis pour une utilisation à la demande, sans (ou avec moins) que tes clients aient besoin de la provisionner ou de l'installer à l'avance. Les applications SaaS, généralement multi-locataires, sont fournies sans que les utilisateurs finaux aient besoin d'installer, d'exploiter ou de gérer l'infrastructure.
Si le SaaS représente un modèle natif du cloud, ses principes s'appliquent à de nombreuses applications proposées aujourd'hui : multi-locataires, riches en API, mises à jour et améliorées en continu.
