Creating one or more documents

Command summary (discussed in the following):

• db.<collection>.insertOne({ // document });
• db.<collection>.insertMany([{ // document },{ // document },etc.]);

The main focus when using the insertOne() or insertMany() command is on the document. The document must be a well formed JSON expression. Document fields can contain arrays, or even other documents. 

If you only wish to insert a single document use insertOne(). Here is an example where we insert a customer Conrad Perry into the sweetscomplete database, customers collection. Note that the unique identifier ObjectId is auto-generated:
