The following sections explain, in detail, how to set up various questions types in Moodle.
The order in which I list the explanations follows the popularity of use. For instance, Multiple Choice, Matching, and True/False are more popular with instructors than Random Short-Answer Matching and Embedded Answers (Cloze).
Note that after you give your question a name, you don't have to state what type of question it is because as soon as you save the question, Moodle lists it with a specific icon representing the question type. The icons make it easier for you to organize and identify the question type, giving you the freedom to name them as you wish. Table 11-1 lists all the questions with the corresponding icons.
